Transitions is an international non-profit organisation and media platform that supports independent journalism, media innovation and solutions journalism. It focuses on finding constructive solutions, sharing good practice and strengthening trust in media across Europe and beyond.

About the Project

The visual communications for Transitions' international summits were designed to create a clear and positive framework for complex media topics, and to set themselves apart from the alarmist tone that is commonplace in the media landscape. The summits focus on dialogue, sharing perspectives and finding ways to make things better — and the visual style reflects this: open, optimistic and welcoming, fostering a good atmosphere and encouraging collaboration among participants.


The first step was creating the visual identity for the European Solutions Journalism Summit, including custom icons, brand guidelines and selected printed materials. Building on the success of that first edition, the Media Innovation Summit followed a year later — for which we created not only the current brand identity, but also a principle that could be extended to future summits, along with a new set of illustrations.


Thanks to clearly defined guidelines and an extensive library of visual materials, the Transitions team is able to prepare individual outputs independently, whilst the system remains open to further development and naturally adapts to changing topics and the needs of each event.
